Aims of the school

The Staff and Governors of Llangedwyn School intend that every pupil will have equal opportunity to develop their maximum potential.

Identifying what our aims are for the children we educate is an important first step towards achieving them.  The school has agreed on the following aims:

  • to foster a caring, stable environment where children can feel confident, happy and secure
  • to provide an environment for children to learn in an organised and planned manner
  • to foster a co-operative partnership between parents and the school
  • to provide a structured programme of work, ensuring continuity and progression in the National Curriculum subject areas and in Religious Education
  • to provide equality of opportunity for all our children
  • to address the needs of each individual child working towards his/her full potential
  • to prepare pupils for the next stage of their education and for adult life
  • to foster an inquiring mind, with the ability to question, evaluate and argue rationally
  • to develop in each child self-confidence and a positive image
  • to develop a sensitivity to the needs of others
  • to develop awareness of moral, social and religious values
